FA Divisional News

Beginning January 22, 2019, Judge Maxine Cheesman will be handling Probate/Guardianship (IB) and Family (FA) matters.

Judge Cheesman will preside in COURTROOM 6D.

Uniform Motion Calendar will be held Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 8:45 a.m.

Probate and Guardianship ex-parte hearings will still be held on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:45 A.M. (One party, no opposition, less than five minutes.) No walk-ins.

Judge Cheesman does not accept email or fax, except at the instruction of the Judge or Judicial Assistant.

GUARDIANSHIP AND PROBATE ORDERS SHOULD BE MAILED, EXCEPT AT THE DIRECTION OF THE JUDGE OR JUDICIAL ASSISTANT

ALL ORDERS PERTAINING TO FAMILY CASES ONLY, MUST BE SUBMITTED VIA THE ONLINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM. Once signed, Orders are e-filed and e-served. If there is a participant in the case who would need to be provided a copy of the Order but is not registered for e-service, a copy of the Order and addressed, stamped envelope must be provided for that individual/entity.

Division IB sets special set hearings via the ONLINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM if the hearing is 30 minutes or less. If you are requesting more than 30 minutes, you will be required to file a hearing request with the Clerk of Court and submit a courtesy copy to CAD-DIVISIONFA@PBCGOV.ORG for Family matters and CAD-DIVISIONIB@PBCGOV.ORG for Probate/Guardianship matters.
