On November 1, 2018, Chief Judge Marx was elected by the Judicial Qualifications Commission (“JQC”) to serve as the Chair of the JQC for a second consecutive term. The Chair’s term is typically only two years. As Chair, Chief Judge Marx leads a Commission of 15 members comprised of judges, attorneys, and non-lawyers who are tasked with investigating misconduct by Florida state judges. The JQC is an independent agency created in 1968 by an amendment to the Florida Constitution. Congratulations on this prestigious appointment.
