Summary

This position will respond and triage phone calls from attorneys and pro-se litigants to address questions related to file reviews, procedural instructions, and status updates in the probate division. The position works under general supervision of the Probate Court Operations Consultant.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or a closely social science related field is preferred. One year of experience in business or public administration as an administrative assistant or other support role requiring office skills and computer literacy or a related field. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Duties

The duties of this position are to respond and triage phone calls from attorneys and pro-se litigants.

Provide administrative assistance as directed. Establish working relationships with judges, court personnel, professionals associated with the legal community and the public.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of the legal system and civil proceedings. Knowledge of court procedures and understanding of basic legal terminology is preferred. Must be highly organized; demonstrate close attention to detail and the ability to work in demanding situations. Must have the ability to interact with a diverse set of people including elected officials with a professional, positive and friendly demeanor. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, civility and ethical standards.
