This is a part-time position – 20 hours per week.


The essential function of the position is to support case management in the area of Civil Law. Assist judges with timely disposition of cases through case management, case monitoring and program implementation. The position is responsible for collecting and reporting on case data and works under general supervision of the Civil Court Operations Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or a closely social science related field is preferred. One year of experience in business or public administration as an administrative assistant or other support role requiring office skills and computer literacy or a related field. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Duties

The duties of this position are to conduct case reviews and process files accordingly. Attend Court hearings as needed to assist Judges. Work with the Court Administrative staff to analyze trends and prepare statistical reports. Compose and maintain court orders, calendars, correspondence, memoranda, reports, e-mails and other documents. Coordinate and schedule court hearings. Provide administrative assistance as directed. Establish working relationships with judges, court personnel, professionals associated with the legal community and the public.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of the legal system and civil proceedings. Knowledge of project management, court procedures and understanding of basic legal terminology is preferred. Must be highly organized; demonstrate close attention to detail and the ability to work in demanding situations. Must have the ability to interact with a diverse set of people including elected officials with a professional, positive and friendly demeanor. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, civility and ethical standards.
